Dear Friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting Silvergate at the Art Jury meeting last Tuesday. Many of you came to the meeting and several spoke in favor of the project. It was the support we needed to offset a vocal minority who are opposed to the project.
Generally speaking, the Art Jury meeting went well. The Building Department spent a great deal of time presenting the details of our Stage 2 submittal. This involved their review of the architectural details, landscape plans, and lighting plans. We presented a summary of the efforts we have made to address their comments from the last Art Jury meeting and an update of the resulting plans we had submitted to the Building Department.
The discussion by the Art Jury members focused on two primary issues. First, the consideration of a second story to the Memory Care building. And second, their need for more time to review the landscape and lighting plans.
As you may recall, we had originally proposed a two-story Memory Care building in anticipation of a growing need for such services. The former Art Jury required that we delete the second story as a condition of approval for the project, which we reluctantly did to move the project forward. On further review, the current Art Jury has elected to reconsider this matter and asked us to submit additional information to justify and support a two-story Memory Care building.
At the end of the meeting, the Art Jury agreed to continue their consideration of the project at a follow-up meeting so that these two items, and any other issues that may arise, can be addressed.
The proposed Silvergate project is a complex development project for the Rancho Santa Fe community. By its very nature, the process will take a significant amount of time for entitlement review and approval. We are encouraged by the progress that we are making and the continued support that we are receiving from you – the Community of Rancho Santa Fe. Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe will be a world class retirement community in your own backyard. Please be assured that we are doing everything that we can to open the doors to this beautiful development as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
For Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe
