Silvergate Fallbrook Enjoys Lunch at the Award-Winning George’s at the Cove
Fallbrook community hosts one-of-a-kind afternoon at one of San Diego’s best restaurants
Silvergate Fallbrook hosted a unique lunch outing to George’s at the Cove in La Jolla Cove last week. Residents and guests enjoyed a gourmet, three-course lunch with a one-of-a-kind view of the Pacific Ocean and San Diego coastline. The special luncheon took place on the afternoon of Thursday, June 12, 2014.
The midday event began at Silvergate Fallbrook, where residents and guests boarded the Silvergate bus and enjoyed the ride down into La Jolla. At George’s at the Cove, guests were seated along the large window that hosted a perfect view of the ocean and coastline. The weather was perfectly clear and sunny, giving guests a stunning view of the water.
For lunch, guests enjoyed options from a prix fixe menu, which included George’s famous soup or an organic baby green salad and their choice of Asian marinated skirt steak, local yellowtail, or roasted Jidori chicken. Lunch concluded with a warm sticky toffee pudding cake served with bananas, toasted hazelnuts, toffee sauce and vanilla bean ice cream.
“I’d never been to this restaurant before” stated Silvergate resident Al Allgauer. “Looking out to the water reminds me of my days fishing out here. This is such a nice afternoon.”
After lunch, guests had the opportunity to do a little shopping along Prospect Street before boarding the Silvergate bus and heading back to Fallbrook.
