No Detail is Too Small for Silvergate Activities
Fallbrook Activities Directory Lynne Leonard’s attention to detail makes Silvergate parties an exceptional success with residents and guests
Silvergate Retirement Residence recently hosted another popular event for residents and guests. The Sweets Extravaganza took place on February 13th, just in time for Valentine’s Day, and included a buffet of desserts, specialty cocktails, a candy bar, and music by Punch and Judy.
The event was just the latest themed party planned by Activities Director Lynne Leonard and her staff. Lynne’s events are well known in the community, with their creative decorations, menus, drinks and entertainment. Lynne has an eye for detail that has won her the praise of residents, family members and guests time and time again. She has been with Silvergate since we first opened our doors more than 20 years ago, and still continues to throw impressive events year after year.
The Sweets Extravaganza, which was held in Silvergate’s Great Room, had a full array of desserts for guests, including: apple pie bites, apple pie, petits fours, mini cheesecakes, raspberry cookies, lemon bites, brownie bites, pound cake, cinnamon twists, chocolate dipped shortbread cookies, lemon layer cake, hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries, homemade sugar cookies, red velvet cake, mini cupcakes, chocolate mousse cake, chocolate bundt cake, triple chocolate cake, coconut cream pie, and Red Hot popcorn.
In addition to the impressive spread of desserts, there was a separate candy bar with special little gift boxes for guests to fill with their favorite candies and take with them. There were also sugar-free desserts and candies available.
The afternoon’s Valentine’s Day inspired cocktails were the “I Love You,” which had champagne and cranberry juice in a sugar-rimmed martini glass, the “Raspberry Chocolate Kiss,” a mixture of vodka, cranberry juice, and fresh raspberries in a glass rimmed with crushed chocolate cookies, and the “Tall, Dark & Handsome,” made with vanilla-flavored vodka, coffee liquor, and chocolate liquor in sugar-rimmed glass.
Guests Leta Hayden, Rosalie Teeple, Donna Totten, Flo Stomoski and Pete Northcutt with their candy boxes filled with their favorite treats
Guests and residents enjoyed the afternoon and many desserts, “Everything was so delicious,” mentioned Donna Totten, “and the candy bar was a nice treat,” added her friend Flo Stomoski.
“Silvergate events are always popular with seniors living in the Fallbrook community,” explained Silvergate Administrator Dorothy Pratt. “They enjoy the opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors.”
