Building Rancho Santa Fe's Future Together

July 22, 2026

Dear Friends of Silvergate,

First and foremost, thank you.

Whether you attended our recent San Dieguito Community Planning Group meeting, submitted a letter of support, or have simply continued to encourage our team, your support is making a meaningful difference. I wanted to personally share a brief update on our progress.

Our recent meeting marked one of our first public presentations as part of the County of San Diego entitlement process. This is separate from the RSF Association’s Art Jury meetings.  While the San Dieguito Planning Group does not make final decisions on behalf of the County, it provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the project and share the vision behind Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe.

Rather than focusing only on buildings and site plans, we focused on something much bigger—why Rancho Santa Fe needs a senior living community.

Today, nearly 1,100 residents age 75 and older live within the greater Rancho Santa Fe community, yet there is no senior living option within the Ranch itself. As longtime residents begin planning for the future, many are forced to leave the community they love to find appropriate housing and care.

That need will only continue to grow. The first Baby Boomers are now turning 80, and by 2045 the number of Americans age 80 and older is expected to nearly double. The demand for assisted living and memory care is already outpacing supply throughout our region.

Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe is designed to help meet that need while offering something equally important—the opportunity for local seniors to remain independent longer through an active, engaging lifestyle and to stay close to their family, friends, physicians, and the community they have spent a lifetime helping build.

We also shared how this project benefits the broader Rancho Santa Fe community by allowing longtime residents to age in place, welcoming new families into the Ranch, thoughtfully enhancing an important gateway entrance to the Ranch, and providing a much-needed piece of community infrastructure for future generations.

One of the clearest indications of the need for this community has been the response from local residents themselves. Although we remain several years from opening, hundreds of local seniors and families have already expressed interest in making Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe their future home. Their enthusiasm reinforces what we have believed from the beginning—that this project addresses an important and growing need within Rancho Santa Fe.

While there is still meaningful work ahead, each meeting represents another opportunity to share the vision, answer questions, and demonstrate the broad support that continues to grow throughout the greater Rancho Santa Fe area and neighboring communities.

We will continue to keep you informed as the project moves through the County review process and let you know when there are future opportunities to participate.

Thank you again for your trust, encouragement, and unwavering support. Together, we are helping create a community where Rancho Santa Fe residents can enjoy every stage of life without leaving the place they proudly call home.

With sincere appreciation,
