SEPTEMBER 19, 2019 – Future residents of Silvergate Rancho Bernardo — a luxury senior living community under development in North San Diego County — gathered for a quarterly depositor update this past Wednesday amid the greens of the bucolic Country Club of Rancho Bernardo. The event showcased a fresh gallery of construction photos and provided a comprehensive overview of the progress the community has made in the last 90 days. Coupled with a special Senior Resource Fair, the event also brought together nearly 20 local businesses to provide future residents with solutions to common retirement transition challenges.
Construction News…
The building of Silvergate Rancho Bernardo has moved swiftly in the past month with several new construction milestones achieved, including the finalizing of the first batch of Cottage homes, the installation of drywall in the East and West Wing Apartment buildings, concrete pours for gutters, curbs and sidewalks and rough grading of the Central Courtyard area. The community’s construction will continue throughout the winter months with build-out expected in late Spring 2020.
From A Future Resident…
“We can’t wait to move into our new home at Silvergate,” said Ellen Guest, a future resident of the community. “We’ve watched the construction from the time of the groundbreaking, and it’s going to be just breathtaking when it’s done. With all of the great progress photos today, we’re looking forward to our move-in day.”
The Senior Resource Fair…
Following the construction update, Silvergate Rancho Bernardo hosted experts from a wide variety of industries at its first-ever Senior Resource Fair. Tradeshow-style booths were set up by local realtors, estate sale experts, financial advisors, property management firms, long-term care insurance specialists, moving companies and other product and service providers to provide incoming residents with valuable local resources and give them an opportunity to ask a myriad of questions about how to make moving to a new community easier.
“Transitioning to a retirement lifestyle can be perceived as a daunting task to some seniors,” said Greg Petree, Vice President of Americare Health & Retirement, the community’s Southern California based developer. “Often, making the choice to move to a senior living community snowballs into a whole host of other decisions for retiring seniors…like when to sell their home, how to reinvest the sale proceeds, or how to downsize their belongings. The experts we’ve assembled here provide seniors with viable local solutions to those challenges.”
From A Future Resident…
“I don’t have a lot of antiques, but I might consider using an estate sales service for many things that I have” said Carol Quaresma, a future resident of Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. “It would help me finalize things and it would be an easy way to pare everything down as I get ready to move to Silvergate. Then they take care wrapping it all up and taking away the final items. That would be really helpful.”
Relocation Services Offered…
“Silvergate has gone above and beyond the call by offering this Senior Resource Fair,” said Sandi Menderson, President and Owner of Bella Reflections, a relocation services firm in San Diego. “When you consider the collective knowledge, expertise and decades of experience these residents now have access to, it just demonstrates how dedicated Silvergate is to helping seniors with the hurdles they face during the transition process. Each company here today specializes in servicing the unique needs of seniors and their families. We are so glad to have had the opportunity to participate today.”
“This Senior Resource Fair was truly amazing for me!” said Simon Loli, a local long-term care insurance specialist who participated as a Preferred Partner in the event. “I had at almost half of the attendees come by my booth who needed my counseling and assessments. I set 15 appointments and everyone that stopped by was truly grateful that we could answer their questions and concerns.”
Future Depositors Enjoy Special Benefits…
Silvergate Rancho Bernardo offers residents a year-round roster of events like the Senior Resource Fair held this week. Organizers shared a list of upcoming Depositor-only events with attendees that included a trip to Temecula Wine Country in October, a Preview Party in November and a special excursion to the Hotel Del Coronado for a Holiday Luncheon in December. The company believes these events along with a bevy of other community amenities and benefits are what set Silvergate Rancho Bernardo apart in the marketplace.
