Laughter filled the historic Mission Theater in downtown Fallbrook on Saturday, March 15, as Silvergate Fallbrook proudly sponsored the “Stand Up For Seniors Comedy Night,” a charity event benefiting the Foundation for Senior Care. The evening brought the community together in support of vital programs that assist local seniors, with attendees enjoying a night of lighthearted humor, fundraising, and friendly competition.
Marking its second year as a key sponsor of this much-anticipated event, Silvergate Fallbrook reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to enhancing the lives of local seniors. The event featured an impressive lineup of comedians, lively audience participation, and a unique twist—three beloved Silvergate residents, Ruth Mowat, Sandy Starr, and Sally Rowland, took the stage as honorary “princesses” for the evening. The resident who sold the most raffle tickets to benefit the Foundation for Senior Care, Ernie Gebler, was crowned “prince” by night’s end.
“This event was an absolute blast,” said Ernie Gebler, a Silvergate Fallbrook resident who attended the show. “Not only did we get to enjoy an evening of fantastic comedy, but we were also able to support an organization that does so much for seniors in our community. Seeing our very own Silvergate ladies up on stage was a real highlight!”
Silvergate’s sponsorship of Stand Up For Seniors underscores the retirement community’s nearly 40-year tradition of local engagement and philanthropy. By supporting the Foundation for Senior Care, Silvergate helps support essential services such as transportation, caregiver resources, and advocacy for older adults in need.
“We are honored to once again be a sponsor for this wonderful event,” said Janae Orona, Executive Director of Silvergate Fallbrook. “The Foundation for Senior Care plays a critical role in ensuring seniors in our area receive the support and resources they need. At Silvergate, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community both within our retirement campus and throughout Fallbrook, and this event is just one example of how we give back.”
Beyond its charitable efforts, Silvergate Fallbrook offers a robust calendar of engaging activities for its residents, including outings to local events, on-campus entertainment, and enriching programs designed to promote social connection and overall well-being.
“Silvergate Fallbrook continues to be an invaluable partner in our mission to serve local seniors,” said Perla Hurtado, Executive Director for the Foundation for Senior Care. “Their ongoing support helps us to continue our services and provide essential assistance to the older adults who rely on us. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and for the enthusiasm their residents bring to this event.”
The Stand Up For Seniors Comedy Night once again proved to be a heartwarming and successful evening, raising critical funds to benefit seniors in Fallbrook. With laughter, camaraderie, and a touch of friendly competition, Silvergate Fallbrook’s participation helped make the event one to remember. The Foundation for Senior Care is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential services for seniors in Fallbrook and surrounding communities.
