Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe, the highly anticipated luxury retirement community planned for development at the intersection of Via De La Valle and Calzada Del Bosque, hosted an exclusive Cocktail Reception this month for Covenant Members who are currently on the community’s coveted Wait List for moving in at build-out. Held at the prestigious Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club in the Ranch, the event provided prospective residents with a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with future neighbors while also serving as a pivotal moment to galvanize support for the project’s approval.
Mobilizing Community Support
The gathering was more than a social occasion as it served to mobilize community support for the development of the Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe retirement community. With the RSF Art Jury’s approval process coming up, the event focused on encouraging attendees to take an active role in advocating for the project’s success. Covenant Members were presented with four key ways to make their voices heard:
- Sign the RSF Friends of Retirement Petition: A resident-driven petition that has already garnered significant support, calling for the approval of Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe.
- Provide a Supportive Quote: Attendees were invited to share their thoughts on why Silvergate should be approved, with quotes to be shared directly with the Art Jury.
- Participate in a Testimonial Video: Short video testimonials were recorded during the event, capturing the enthusiasm and support of future residents, which will be presented to the Art Jury.
- Contact the RSF Art Jury and RSF Association Board: Attendees were encouraged to reach out directly to decision-makers or speak during public comment periods at upcoming Art Jury and RSF Board meetings.
“We are incredibly grateful for the early interest and overwhelming support we’ve received from the Covenant community,” said David Petree, CEO of AmeriCare Health & Retirement, the owner and developer behind Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe. “The positive response from those on our Wait List has been truly inspiring, and we’re committed to delivering a retirement community that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our future residents. This event was a vital step in ensuring that their voices are heard loud and clear as we move through the approval process.”
The event highlighted the strong demand for high-quality retirement living options within Rancho Santa Fe. Currently, 144 senior households in the Covenant have signed up to be on the Wait List for 138 luxury senior living cottages and apartment homes that Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe will offer. With nearly 30 Covenant Members already expressing their written support for the project, it’s clear that the community is eager for a new chapter in retirement living.
One attendee and Covenant member, Ellen Rindell, said, “A community such as what Silvergate proposes is something that the covenant sorely needs. An active, vital lifestyle is something we want to continue as we age. We love the Ranch, its beauty and history and have delighted in living here for decades.”
“As a long-time resident and active participant in the life of the Ranch, I would like nothing more than to be able to continue residing here in Rancho Santa Fe in a quality senior living community,” said Kathy Stumm, another enthusiastic supporter and long-time resident who moved to Rancho Santa Fe more than 40 years ago. She shared her excitement at the prospect of having a luxury retirement community built in the Ranch by adding, “The proposed location for this new project at Via de la Valle and Avenida Del Bosque would give me continued access to the people and the organizations that have been a part of my life since moving here in the 1970’s. I hope the Silvergate community comes to fruition and offers me that opportunity sometime soon.”
Many seniors in the Ranch are eagerly anticipating the construction and completion of Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe for several compelling reasons:
- Spacious Accommodations: Silvergate will offer some of the largest senior living accommodations in the industry, ensuring residents can downsize without sacrificing comfort or luxury.
- High-Caliber Amenities and Services: The community will feature a range of top-tier amenities, including fine dining venues, a Wellness Center, a Central Clubhouse, and a variety of recreational facilities such as pickleball courts, a putting green, and a pool with cabanas.
- Locally Owned and Operated: With an actively engaged leadership team that’s regularly involved in the ongoing operations of its boutique collection of senior living communities, Silvergate has consistently ranked among the top 1%-2% of independent, assisted living and memory care providers in the nation. With local ownership comes responsive operations, ongoing property reinvestment, business continuity and pride of ownership.
- Award-Winning Care: Residents can rest easy knowing that award-winning care will be available if ever needed, providing peace of mind for both themselves and their families.
The recent Cocktail Reception is one of many outreach efforts undertaken by the project’s owners since November 2023 to engage with the Rancho Santa Fe community. As the development moves forward, the support of Covenant Members will play a crucial role in gaining the necessary approvals to bring Silvergate Rancho Santa Fe to fruition.
