FEBRUARY 12, 2020 – Silvergate San Marcos, a premier senior living community in North San Diego County, brought together an eager group of its current residents with local seniors to take part in an all-day adventure to Valley View Casino on Friday, February 7, 2020.
While gambling, great conversation and lunch were on the day’s agenda, the casino excursion was primarily organized to give local seniors — some of whom find themselves house-bound regularly — an opportunity to spend time out-and-about while meeting and making new friends.
“We had a grand time with all of the folks from Silvergate,” said Delores Kinsman, who came over from Carlsbad just for the community’s trip to the casino. “It feels good to get out and spend time with other people who just want to make the most of the day. I’m really glad I came today.”

Nearly two dozen attendees met at the senior community in San Marcos to board private Silvergate busses to the Valley View Casino in Valley Center, California. In just under four hours, several of the seniors left the casino with both winnings for the day and budding friendships.
“We love taking part in Silvergate’s events,”said Margot Boisvert, who joined her friend, Delores Kinsman, for a day out together. “We like to get out and have a little fun instead of staying cooped up at home. There’s always something great going on at Silvergate and it keeps us active.”
