Significant strides continue to be made at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo, north San Diego County’s newest luxury senior living community, where the final stages of construction are taking place. While Silvergate awaits formal licensing approval from the State of California, we are proud to announce the selection of a wonderfully qualified executive manager as the Executive Director for the community.
With nearly two decades of experience in senior living care, Sondra Brakeville will take the helm as Executive Director at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo when the property opens this Summer. Her accomplished career path has taken her from overseeing sales and marketing, to serving as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and on to the executive ranks of the industry.
“We were looking for an extremely qualified and highly competent individual for the Executive Director role at our newest flagship community in Rancho Bernardo,” said David Petree, President of AmeriCare Health & Retirement, the parent company to Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. “In Sondra, we found all of that and more. Her depth of knowledge of the retirement living industry; her ability to relate to residents and their families; and her business acumen were all part of why we brought her into the Silvergate family. We are confident that Sondra will launch and operate the community with great success.”
Sondra Brakeville comes to Silvergate with years of leadership at some of the largest senior living communities in the region. Along with navigating the complex California licensing process, her primary focus will be to recruit and hire an experienced team of highly qualified senior managers for every aspect of the community. From the Executive Chefs in the on-site restaurants to the licensed Vocational Nurses in the Memory Care Suites, a seasoned staff with wide-ranging skills will be in place when the community opens its doors.

Silvergate Rancho Bernardo’s new Executive Director joins the leadership team as the community prepares to take its first round of advance reservations for its Memory Care Suites. The community has a select offering of 48 private accommodations for seniors in need of specialized care related to dementia, memory loss, Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairments.

Reservations for the final apartment homes are now underway and advance reservations are now being taken for the Memory Care Suites. Silvergate Rancho Bernardo expects to take reservations for the community’s Memory Care Suites in early 2020.
