As you can see from the aerial footage above progress on the new Silvergate Rancho Bernardo retirement community was sizzling hot in July! The short video clip provides a wonderful overview of the whole site and a good feel for the spectacular progress that’s underway. Also as promised, the project is all being built at once with all buildings now taking shape.
On the southern half of the site, our stunning Cottage homes are nearly completed on their exteriors and work on the interiors is progressing nicely. In July, the Cottages continued to receive their hand crafted exterior stone highlights, garage doors, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, kitchen and bathroom countertops, shower wall tile, and bathroom floor tile.
The Pool House received all of its trim, stucco, and fireplace in July. With a nice high ceiling in the outdoor living room area, this will be a lovely place for residents to use for meals or socializing during these warm summer months. Immediately to its north, the concrete for the private pool and spa was shot in July and will be a perfect place for residents to swim laps or relax their bones.
Progress on the central Clubhouse and the porte cochère in the middle of the site was notable, with interior walls on all three floors going in last month. With most walls in place, many of the appealing resident spaces are laid out including the yoga studio, fitness room, private theatre, art studio, game room and card room.
The Apartment wings passed some important inspections in July, which now allow us to close in the ceilings and walls with drywall. The east Apartment wing received its roof tile in July, with the west Apartment wing coming next. Also, most of the apartments windows and doors have now been installed and of particular note is the impressive glass panel balcony doors going into our larger units. These impressive doors systems flood the apartments with natural light and allow for east access out to the residents large private patio or balcony.
Installation of the grand roof truss system in the Restaurant building continued in July. You can get a good view of it about half way through the video clip. Intended as a destination on its own, our vision for the Restaurant building is truly coming to life!
On the north end, work in the Memory Care building last month occurred primarily inside, where drywall work is making steady progress. This building also passed several inspections recently, and is furthest along of all of our larger buildings.
UPDATE: Due to an abnormally wet winter and shortages in the construction labor market, we are now projecting to complete construction in early 2020. Once construction is complete, and we will make every effort to quickly obtain our license from the state of California, and open our doors shortly thereafter.
