Silvergate Celebrates the Season with Festive Holiday Open House

San Marcos and Fallbrook communities enjoy hors d’oeuvres, champagne, raffle prizes and photos with Santa

San Diego, CA – Silvergate Retirement Residences, two locally owned, top-rated retirement communities in San Marcos and Fallbrook in San Diego County, opened their doors to the public this past week with their annual Holiday Open House events.  Silvergate invited the surrounding communities to come together to celebrate the Christmas season.  The popular events featured gourmet hors d’oeuvres, champagne, live entertainment, raffle prizes and a special visit from Santa.

In San Marcos, guests enjoyed gourmet cheese platters, dumplings, and chicken and beef satay with a savory peanut sauce created by the community’s new Executive Chef Travis Jennings.  The following day, guests in Fallbrook enjoyed jumbo shrimp, BBQ beef, jalapeno poppers, meatballs, fruit and veggie platters, and holiday cookies for dessert, as well as champagne wine, beer, and eggnog at the bar prepared by Executive Chef Elena Hunt and her team.

Both events also featured live music and special photos with Santa.

“I can’t remember the last time I took a picture on Santa’s lap!” stated Silvergate San Marcos guest Billie Cooper.  “This is such a fun idea.”

Guests also had an opportunity to tour the beautifully decorated communities during the Open House events.  A number of lucky guests also went home with raffle prizes such as Nordstrom gift cards and Belgian chocolate gift sets.

“Events like our Holiday Open House are always popular because they bring the local senior community together for some fun Christmas festivities,” explained Silvergate San Marcos Administrator Melba Dunn. “Everyone looks forward to spending an afternoon with friends and loved ones during the Christmas season.”
