We hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend, honoring those who honor us with bravery. In spite of the unseasonably wet and chilly month of “May gray” progress continues steadily at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo.
Beginning on the south end of the project, our single-story cottages have nearly all received their roof tile and have been “dried-in”. That has allowed us to move inside, where insulation and drywall work has made steady progress. In fact, a few of the cottages have begun to receive their crown molding and other detailed trim work.
In the middle of the project site, our Clubhouse has really started to take shape, with its structural walls being installed along with its impressive roof trusses. As the central hub of future resident activity and entertainment, it’s exciting to see this building come together.
On either side of the Clubhouse, the crews are working hard to dry-in the two large apartment wings as well, so that work can move inside. With all the prefabricated wall panel work now complete in these two buildings, the plumbing, mechanical, and electrical trades are hard at work filling in the walls. The roof trusses have also been installed, and the roof tile is nearly ready to be laid.
The restaurant is beginning to receive its wall panels now and the two different eating venues, the main dining room and the smaller bar/bistro areas, are becoming more clearly defined. This is the last of our buildings to be constructed, but since it is simply a one-story building progress should be made quickly.
Overall, construction is projected to be completed towards the end of the year. Following a few months to obtain our license from the state of California, we hope to open our doors for business in early 2020. With that in mind, now is the best time to join the growing list of people who have already selected their new homes and will enjoy our beautiful new retirement community.
