Progress is afoot from the south end of the SILVERGATE Rancho Bernardo construction site – where The Cottages are located — all the way to the north end of the community – where the new Memory Care Suites are being erected. This month has ushered in a significant number of construction milestones, including loads of drywall installation inside and striking mosaic tile roofs going down outside.
THE COTTAGES NEARING COMPLETION
This month, the first batch of Cottages is nearing completion! With flooring installed, interior doors in place, garage doors up and concrete patios poured, the big reveal is almost ready to take place. Marketing Director Pam Rundle will soon be relocating her office from the temporary Construction Leasing Trailer to her new digs in one of the freshly painted and newly finished Cottages.
FROM THE WEST & EAST WINGS
The East Wing reached a pivotal point in the construction schedule this month with all drywall installation coming to a close. Outside the East Wing building, the exterior lath is being positioned into place, bringing it closer to its final form. Meanwhile, over in the West Wing, all windows are now fitted and the Insulation and drywall installation continues along the corridors and in the apartment spaces.
OVER AT THE POOL HOUSE
Concrete for the open-air Pool House patio was poured into place this month, laying the foundation for what will be an amazing outdoor eating and gathering spot for future residents. Stone masons also worked on hand-positioning the rugged rock veneer that graces the Pool House’s gorgeous outdoor fireplace, where the veneer on the arch-way column veneer was also completed.
INSIDE THE CENTRAL CLUB HOUSE
Safety systems were being set up in the Central Club House this month as tradesmen completed the rough-in of the fire sprinklers. At the same time, framing has continued on the second and third floors of the building, bringing the footprint of rooms like the Game Lounge, the Card Room, the Art Studio, the Fitness Center, and the Yoga Studio into clear view. The progress in the common areas of the Club House is especially exciting to see, as you can almost imagine the poker games taking place in what will soon be a bustling floor of activity in of this special space
RESTAURANT & BISTRO PROGRESS
Dining in the El Castillo Restaurant will be on par with any fine dining experience you’ve experienced after the our craftsmen complete this truly special space. From the grandeur of the soaring ceilings to the white linen tables that will be bathed in light from the south, this formal venue will be a magnificent place to make new memories with new friends and neighbors. This month, construction began on the elegant fireplace that will be the primary focal point of the main dining room. Around the fireplace, drywall hangers were getting started the interior walls. By next month, this beautiful room will really start to take shape!
SILVERGATE MEMORY CARE SUITES PROGRESSING
Cabinets and countertops were completed on the second floor of the Memory Care Suites building this month, along with more paint application throughout and drywall going into the grey water and boiler rooms.
AROUND THE OUTSIDE
The outdoor landscape elements are also shaping up all around the community. In the Central Courtyard area, rough grading has finished, construction of the beautiful custom-made fountain centerpiece is underway and the Tree of Life – which was planted early on in the construction – has started to establish its roots.
