Construction began this month on a series of major renovations to the assisted living and memory care buildings of the Silvergate Fallbrook retirement campus, the area’s premier senior living community for more than 30 years. The community’s parent company, AmeriCare Health & Retirement, Inc. will modernize several common area spaces of Silvergate as it upgrades the property for the comfort and enjoyment of current and future senior residents.
“This already beautiful campus is taking on a fresh look with these wonderful renovations,” said Matt Petree, Director of Property Development and project manager for the modernization at Silvergate. “We engaged a phenomenal design team who made it a priority to tastefully modernize both indoor and outdoor common area spaces with warm wood tones, brushed metal surfaces and color hues reflective of the Fallbrook countryside. We’re incredibly excited by the changes.”
The renovations at Silvergate will be undertaken in phases to avoid any major disruption to residents and are expected to be completed by summertime in 2021. The half-million dollar project includes an interior redesign of common area spaces such as the Theater Room and Friendship Café, as well as fun and engaging spaces like the Activity Room and Card Room, which accommodate robust event programming and resident activities. Substantial improvements are also being made to the secure outdoor patio area of the Memory Care Suites building to encourage more resident walking and to beautify outdoor seating areas for visiting family members.
One of the most dynamic renovations taking place at Silvergate Fallbrook is the new restaurant-style outdoor dining patio for the community’s independent living and assisted living residents. The space will offer residents the opportunity to savor an all-new dining menu and create a comfortable environment that encourages meaningful connections among residents. When completed, the patio venue will better utilize the existing space to provide for more seating and allow greater flexibility for a host of new outdoor events and activities.
“The staff’s favorite, and most impactful, part of the renovation process will be transforming a portion of our original central courtyard space into a brand new, year-round outdoor restaurant venue. We’re re-grading the entire courtyard lawn space to remake the area into a beautiful new outdoor dining patio defined by a new grand trellis with heaters, fans, and Italian lighting,” said Patricia Martinez, the Executive Director at Silvergate Fallbrook who worked with the design team to modernize the property to better serve residents, their families and guests of the community. “The courtyard renovation will also include a new fire pit, walking paths, fresh landscaping & tree up-lighting, outdoor game tables and much more. The residents are going to love it – especially Happy Hour in their new space.”
The planned renovations at Silvergate Fallbrook highlight a tangible example of the importance of local ownership. With only three retirement communities in north county San Diego, AmeriCare takes great pride of ownership in the few properties they own.
