Silvergate Retirement Guests Attend Annual ‘Day at the Races’ Event
Both Fallbrook and San Marcos communities enjoy lunch and horse races at the Del Mar Racetrack
Del Mar, CA – Silvergate Retirement Residences, a top-rated retirement and assisted livingcommunity in San Diego County, hosted guests during their annual “Day at the Races” event at the historic Del Mar Racetrack. Attendees enjoyed track-side seating, lunch at the Stretch Run Grill, and placed bets on the first four races of the afternoon. The popular event took place Wednesday, July 24th.
Silvergate Retirement has hosted the annual “Day at the Races” for several years. It is one of the most popular of the Silvergate outings, along with the annual San Diego Bay Ferry Ride and Peohe’s Lunch, Week-Long Cruise, and Wine Tasting and Vineyard Tour. Both Silvergate guests and residents attended the event and a lucky few took home some winnings.
“We love going to Silvergate events. We always have so much fun!” stated Ruthann Kirby. “We have to make sure we RSVP for the next one right away,” added her husband John Kirby.
Some guests look at these events as a way to get back into the community and socialize with others. First-time guest Rita McGlincy explained, “When I’m at home I’m not very social and I don’t get out much, but I want to get out and do more. This is the most fun I’ve had since my husband passed away in November. Everyone here has been so nice and welcoming.”“We always enjoy hosting these special Silvergate outings,” explained David Petree, Owner of Silvergate Retirement Residences. “It’s important for our guests to stay active and continue doing what they love. Our ‘Day at the Races’ is always a big hit and we always have such a great time.”
